Howard Phillips Lovecraft, 1890 to 1937, an American writer, is well known for his influence in the horror genre. His literary work mainly consists of short stories and novellas. He loved to explore cosmic horror, unknown realms and worlds, and the failures and errors of humanity. His best-known invention was the Cthulhu mythos, which inspired generations of artists.
The Hound
This Gothic story was first published in the February 1924 issue of the pulp magazine "Weird Tales."
In "The Hound," H. P. Lovecraft takes a look at obsession and madness. Two antiquarians who engage in grave-robbing out of morbid curiosity and a desire for forbidden knowledge discover an ancient amulet. They dare to take it home, where it triggers a series of malicious horrors.
"The Hound“ explores the terrible consequences of meddling with incomprehensible forces. The story is a chilling testimony to Lovecraft's ability to create atmospheric horror in the realms of the Twilight Zone.
